Evade Roblox
One round, about three minutes, and a bunch of weird faces chasing you while blasting loud sounds. That's Evade Roblox, an action parkour game created by Hexagon Development Community, inspired by the Nextbot mod in Garry's Mod. In the Indonesian version of Roblox, this game appears under the name "Melarikan diri," but players usually just call it Evade.
Released on June 10, 2022, Evade has been visited over 9.27 billion times and favorited by over 8.3 million players. The game is also still actively updated, with the latest update on October 7, 2026. This guide covers how to play Evade from scratch, modes and maps, movement tricks to escape Nextbots, as well as available codes and Gamepass.
How to Play Evade Roblox for Beginners
The main goal is simple: survive until the round timer runs out. Nextbots will hunt all players on the map, and their presence is usually felt through signature sounds, flashing lights, and a red filter on the screen that gets more intense as they get closer. A public server holds a maximum of 15 players.
If you get touched by a Nextbot, you don't die immediately, but fall into a downed state. Teammates can carry you to a safe place with the Q key, then hold E to revive. Helping revive also increases your earnings at the end of the round, so playing with a team is definitely more profitable than running alone.
There are several currencies you need to know:
- Tokens: earned from completing rounds, daily missions, and codes. Used to buy lights, utility, usables, perks, and emotes in the shop.
- Points: cosmetic currency for the Daily Shop, such as character skins, unusuals, and nametags.
- Experience (XP): increases at the end of each round based on how long you survived, and unlocks higher shop items.
- Wins: recorded if you survive until the end of the round without being downed even once.
Basic controls on PC according to the official game description: E for interaction, G for emotes, 1/3/F to use items, 2 for the usable menu, C or Ctrl to crouch, T for whistle, and M for the menu. Memorize the crouch and emote buttons first, as both are the foundation of movement tricks to escape Nextbots.
Game Modes in Evade
Before entering a server, you can choose a mode via the Mode Browser. Each mode changes the number of lives, round duration, and rewards:
- Default: standard mode with limited lives, normal downed and revive rules, and rounds of about 3 minutes.
- Casual: infinite lives and rounds of about 4 minutes, but rewards are only 0.8x and you cannot revive teammates. Great for practicing movement.
- Big Team: normal survival rules, but servers can hold up to 50 players. Make sure your device is powerful enough.
- Arena: only one life, once downed you die immediately.
- Pro Servers: exclusive for Level 50 and up, only uses Hard and Expert maps, with 1.1x rewards.
- VC Only: voice chat must be active and text chat is disabled, so team coordination is done via voice.
- Social Space: a lobby without Nextbots to chat, emote, or just walk around the map.
On public servers, roughly every third round can turn into a special round. The rules vary, from all players moving super fast, dark fog, to the map being flooded with specific Nextbots. More difficult special rounds usually provide higher reward multipliers.
Evade Maps and Difficulty Levels
Maps are chosen via voting at the start of the round. Each map has an Easy, Normal, Hard, or Expert difficulty level, and the harder the map, the bigger the reward at the end of the round. The community wiki records 88 maps, including Small versions which are condensed copies of full maps with tighter spaces.
Some examples of maps easily recognized by new players:
- Easy: Four Corners, Rooftops, Military Base, and Brutalist Void. The routes are easy to read and suitable for warming up.
- Normal: Backrooms, Crossroads, Complex, and Drab. Backrooms has falling holes at the edge of the map, while Drab is famous for high ledges that are hard for Nextbots to climb.
- Hard and Expert: also appear on Pro Servers, with tighter layouts and hazards like pits or water.
Before voting, pay attention to the hazards on that map. Maps with pits or voids can cause you to fall without being touched by a Nextbot at all.
Tips to Escape Nextbots
The key to Evade is movement, not hiding. According to the community wiki, most Nextbots are slightly slower than a full sprint, but can teleport if they get stuck. This means corners that look safe usually aren't safe for long.
- Use slide. Crouch (C or Ctrl) while running to slide, then combine it with a jump for a slide jump so you don't lose momentum.
- Practice emote dash. This technique utilizes moving emotes, for example, Stride (400 Tokens). Run to maximum speed, open the emote wheel with G, select the emote, then immediately slide jump and keep jumping every time you touch the ground. Direction is controlled via the camera, so practice in an open area first.
- Buy items that help you survive first. Cola gives an extra speed boost of about 50% for 6 seconds, and a Defibrillator can instantly revive a downed teammate.
- Choose movement perks. You can equip two perks at once. Hermes Shoes (Level 30) increase running acceleration by 70%, while Spring Shoes (Level 60) provide a double jump.
- Listen to the sound. Audio and the red filter are the earliest warnings. Once you hear them, immediately look for a long escape route.
Latest Evade Codes (October 2026)
Evade codes are usually shared via the Hexagon Development Community Discord and X accounts, especially during updates or events. Codes recorded as active on several code tracker sites as of October 8, 2026:
